First Chapter Review & Giveaway: Rock Crush and Roll by Hunter Snow

I received a digital copy of this first chapter from Goddess Fish Promotions. Read all the way through to learn more about this book tour's giveaway.

BLURB: Tyler Robertson is a music manager. Cary Kingston is the biggest rock star in the world. She's sworn off dating musicians. And he's a confirmed bachelor.

But when their working relationship turns into something more, she wonders if she's falling for the rock star or the person.

You can't always get what you want... but sometimes you can.

COVER: Isn't this the best cover! You know it's a contemporary romance by its design, the title is clever, and love that vibrant cover.

FIRST CHAPTER: Tyler Robertson and her colleague, Kim, do all the grunt work managing bands for their boss, Sebastien. It's a thankless task that requires babysitting these rockers.

After dropping off a drummer's passport so he can make it to his next gig, Tyler and her trusty canine companion, Rory, head to the office to do some paperwork. That's when they are surprised by Cary Kingston.

Cary is the biggest rock start represented by SDM, and he's an international rockstar. When Tyler agrees to help him with his fan mail, she can't help but drool over the guy. But what would he want a girl like her for?

KEEP READING: Definitely! What a fun read! Between pop culture references, the drudgery of the job that you know somehow Cary is going to save Tyler from, and the witty banter, how could I not continue? The author sets up Tyler's life before introducing Cary into the mix. Reading ahead, it looks like Rock Crush and Roll will be told from both of their points of view, which will give the reader a better glimpse into each character. Would love to polish this one off soon.

READ AN EXCERPT!

“She hates my music,” Cary told Vegas as he climbed into their chauffeured SUV.

Vegas turned his head. “What?”

“Tyler Robertson.” His tone became impatient as he went on, “She hates my music, Vegas. It’s kind of obvious.”

He shrugged. “What the f*** do you care?”

“What did she say? Does she think I’m a has-been?” His biggest fear in life was becoming obsolete. His records weren’t selling like they used to and hit singles were few and far between. He’d rather die than have his new love interesting thinking he was passé.

“She hasn’t said anything.” Vegas arched an eyebrow. “At least not to me. What’s gotten into you, man?”

Cary slid down in his seat and scrolled through his phone. “Nothing,” he said dismissively, not wanting to talk about it even though he’d been the one to bring it up in the first place. Tyler was the first woman in years, maybe ever, who’d made him feel insecure.

Thanks for inviti8ng me to host.

Hunter, great to have you with us. What was your favorite part of writing this one?

Hi Cheryl! It was so fun! It took about 6 weeks to write, then a year of editing. I loved how much the female MC missed her family. I know how it feels to be homesick. The male MC was a little more difficult, being a famous rock star. But, at the end of the day, people are people. (Thinking of the Depeche Mode song.)
