Quotes to Ponder - Mark Twain on Reading

I'm not going to post a motivational quote today because I ran across this one by Mark Twain and liked it so much I wanted to share it with you:

"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them." - Mark Twain

I, for one, can't imagine life without reading. When I made my decision four years ago that I was going to get back into my regular habit of reading, it was as much for my own enjoyment as it was to help me hone my writing craft. There are times when I don't even realize how important reading has become to me; but when a friend asks me if I've seen the lastest episode of a television show or people are talking about a movie they've seen, it smacks me in the face--reading is my preferred form of entertainment. The TV is never on when the kids aren't home, and when I do sit down to relax, I open a book. I can count on one hand the number of movies I've been to in the last decade. This is a habit I've had since I was a child, and thankfully it wasn't one of those habits that fell by the wayside as I grew older.

Do yourself a favor--enjoy a good book this week!

Yeah, I love reading too! And reading Mark Twain's books also inspired me a lot in my life. Sadly, people nowadays do not like to read books, especially in Asia countries.
