It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - Jan 20

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Welcome back to Monday! It is a snowy one around here. Finally took all the lights off the outside of the house so they didn't get stuck on there for the winter. All the inside decorations are still up, though. Been busy working, and this time of year my hands bother me because of the cold.

Hope you all had a nice week. Mine was filled with work, meetings, a bit of reading, and fresh nails. I love them, but I'm thinking it might be time to take a break. Have any of you removed nails after having them on a while? Figure they will be as weak as a reed.

Here are some photos from this week:

In my reading and blogging world., I reviewed this devotional. You can read it here

I also reviewed this audiobook collection. You can read the review here if you missed it.

Posted my review of the first of Marilyn's memoirs on Friday. Click here to read it.

On Saturday, I reviewed this one from NetGalley. You can read the review here

I've been reading this one.

I also started these two.

These are next.

Upcoming events:
  • Review of Ghosting Academy by LS Delorme - Feb 3 (Review)

The latest at the Christmas Year Round blog:

Reminder that I also have a blog dedicated to Laura Ingalls Wilder, her books, and the shows based upon them. You can find Laura's Little Houses here. I am looking for input on which Little House on the Prairie character I should profile next. Would love to hear the thoughts of any fans that read this blog.

That's it for me. Hoping today is a slower day than the most recent Mondays have been. Enjoy your day!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - Oct 14

Welcome back to Monday! How's the weather were you are? It's definitely changed to fall temperatures around here. Good thing, because the Lil' Princess came home for fall break this past week, and the fall colors are amazing. She misses the leaves changing when she is in North Carolina.

Here are a few photos from the last week's adventures.

Having a rare day off, I caught up on reviews. You can read my thoughts on these two here.

My review of this one should appear here tomorrow.

This is another great book by Sheila Roberts. My review will appear on Wednesday.

My review of this fabulous book by Jill Kemerer will appear here on Thursday.

I need to finish this one before NetGalley archives it. Like what I have read so far.

This one is for a November review.

There are so many books I want to read through the end of the year, but I need to focus on two editing projects and plotting my next novel. I promised myself I would as I wait to hear back from the agent I submitted Home for the Heart to last month. Here are a few possibilities.

I also grabbed this novel this week. Marilyn says it was supposed to be a Deputy Tempe Crabtree novel, but it didn't quite work with the series, so she changed the characters and tweaked the setting to create a stand alone book.

Upcoming events:
  • The Merry Matchmaker by Sheila Roberts - October 16 (Review)
  • A Celtic Yuletide Carol by Jennifer Ivy Walker - November 20 (Review)

I am looking to review Christmas picture books, chapter books, and clean romance novellas this year. You can check out what other products I'm looking for here.

You can read the latest Christmas news at the Christmas Year Round blog. Lots of fun Christmas news. Early Christmas shoppers and decorators, Operation Christmas Child kickoff, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever movie is coming in November. You can read the latest news here.

That's it from me today. I hope to visit your blogs early. I'm typing this on Sunday in the hopes I can turn in earlier than usual. See you around the blogosphere!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on My Spring 2024 TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Welcome back to Tuesday! I haven't participated in this meme for a couple of weeks. Too much going on and not overly inspired lately. While I might do some switching around of this list, here are the...

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday - Aug 14

Welcome to It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday.

Happy Monday! It is a busy one, so this will be short and sweet. Lots of real estate happenings--some good, some not so good. I finished two editing projects over the weekend and am reading a potential acquisition for the publishing house. HelloFresh is helping me with suppertime on those crazy days. I also signed up to try Blueland, which are eco-friendly cleaning products. First shipment of laundry supplies arrived Saturday. Anyone else tried these? Would love your feedback.

In my reading world, I finished these two for reviews on August 21st and August 18th respectively.

I didn't read this one last week.

Next up are the following:

Upcoming virtual book tours:
  • Red Tail Feathers by Wendi Lou Lee - August 18 (review)
  • Sammy the Sailing Sea Turtle by Gwendol - August 16 (TC&TBC)
  • Ravage & Son by Jerome Charyn - August 21 (review)
  • Victoria James: And The Mysterious Case of the Chilly Willies by Elizabeth Burns August 29 (review TC&TBC)
  • Precious Burdens by Avery Sterling - August 31
  • Murder at Midnight by Katharine Schellman - October 4 (review)
  • Death and the Sisters by Heather Redmond - October 17 (review)
  • Resparking Creativity by Fatemah Mirza & Sumayyah Rafiq - November 20 (review)

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

With an Audible credit, I decided to go with a writing craft book on August 7th.

For more than twenty years Natalie Goldberg has been challenging and cheering on writers with her books and workshops. In her groundbreaking first book, she brings together Zen meditation and writing in a new way. Writing practice, as she calls it, is no different from other forms of Zen practice—"it is backed by two thousand years of studying the mind." This edition includes a new preface and an interview with the author.

That's it from me. I will check in on blogs later today.
