The East Coast has gotten slammed during the month of January with one major storm after another. My girls have been out of school this month almost as much as they have been in. Here are a few photos of what it looks like around here:
This is our front yard after the second major snow storm during the week of January 17th. We have added at least another 8 inches of snow since then. My girls had 2 snow days that week and 1 this past week.
The nice thing about our property is that we have our own hill for sledding. It's getting a lot of use this year.
I had cleared some of the snow off the deck in between storms, but this is what is out there right now. Gee, I hope it doesn't collapse under the weight.
I hear the next storm is headed our way Tuesday night into Wednesday. I have a feeling the girls will be home again if things play out the way they have so far this winter. Calgon, take me away!

LOL, holy crap! Beautiful house, though!
Nice house. So glad I live in California.
I am so with you, Cheryl! Being an eastcoaster myself, I am fed up with all the snow. Every time the weather man mentions it, I cringe. I say we start a petition to Mother Nature to get it to STOP!!
You'll probably hate me for saying this, but I really miss the snow! I grew up in the midwest and now I live in TX. We usually get at least a few flurries that look pretty and then melt. But everything missed us this year. We've had hot & cold every few days and we're all perpetually sick. It's been in the 70s the last 2 days and we're getting ready to have another cold front. I hope you get relief from all the snow soon! Wish you could send it here! LOL.
WOW, and Ontario is looking greener and greener every day. Sorry you got all our snow this year!
Isn't it unbelievable, Margay? Since I work from home I've gotten spoiled and haven't really needed to drive in considerable snow for about 3 years. This year I am testing my snow driving legs again. It's scary.
Michelle, I can understand that. It's one of the reasons I haven't wanted to make the move down south. There's something magical about the first snow that I can't imagine not experiencing every year.
Freda, I guess we have to take what we get. We've had some green winters, but it must be your turn this time.
Thanks for stopping by ladies.
Yeah, I hate driving in the snow. This year, I am without a car, so I don't have to worry about it!
We were just beginning to see the sidewalks again, after dribs and drabs of snow and ice, enough to make it impossible to walk. Now a huge dump is headed our way!
The scary thing about snow is if it all melts at once. That's what I'm always wary about, but can't do much about it except keep stuff off the basement floor.

I love the pics, Cheryl! What a gorgeous house you have!! We are suppose to be in for 15" starting Tuesday afternoon - Wed. afternoon. We shall see...
I am so jealous! Ellen up in VT keeps complaining about her snow but I would gladly trade snow for the 65 degrees we have had the last 3 days! I love winter in New England!
I'm not as far East as you are, Cheryl, but we are in for a lot of snow ourselves. My son is hoping for a snow day.
Holy cow!!! Beautiful pics of the snow, but yikes.
I am not a winter person. Our area seldom has snow, thankfully. Tonight we're in a winter blizzard watch. It's already started to rain that will turn into snow as the temperatures drop. They're advising people to stay home because of the single digit temps and 25 mph winds. I don't know how you do it with one snowfall after another.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. Another 12- 18 inches is on the way over the next two days. The girls are getting dismissed early tomorrow, and I'm sure won't have school Wednesday. Is it any wonder I can't get work done?
I think it's been so long since we've had a winter like this that it just seems unbearable at this point.
I went out today to clear snow from the deck. Man that stuff is heavy.
