So many children go to school every day and then graduate (or not, sadly) not knowing how to read. This will affect everything they do for the rest of their lives.
I have 10 grandchildren and would love to have this book to help two of them.
Great blog, btw. I'll be adding your link to my Links for Writers page at my website.

I think that the inability to use language -- reading, writing, speaking, playing word games, and et cetera -- is critical to any real success in life. I would love to have a copy of this book so I could share with my grandchildren. I have tried to pass the spark of my own love of reading, but I think I need help.

By the way, I am in Baltimore, Maryland. This book is probably something our school system needs, too.

For all of you who are interested in this book, Dr. Hal Lanse will be interviewed here on August 29th. I don't know what his schedule looks like right now, but he might stop in to answer a few questions, so make sure to check back on Friday.
Thanks.
Cheryl

I am a second grade teacher and I know how important reading is. I've noticed there are many parents out there who want to help their children become better readers, but they don't quite know how. I run a workshop throughout the year where I help parents learn the basic essentials of reading and the best ways to share that knowledge with their children. I would love to have a copy of The Book Connection. It sounds like it goes over exactly what I'm doing. It would be a great resource for myself, and for the parents who come to my workshops.
