Welcome to It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
Welcome back to Monday. Wishing a blessed Hanukkah to all who celebrate it.
Last week and this coming week have been and will be filled with a lot of goings on. I sat on my last board meeting for the RAPV on Tuesday. I'm staying in real estate, but won't be serving on the board of directors next year. Our company's annual Adopt A Family program, where we help dozens of families in need, is in full swing. I help chair that, so lots of sorting and packing up toys. I'm working on Christmas stuff and editing the novel I wrote in November. The best part of the week was that the Lil' Princess arrived home Sunday. She'll be with us until she goes back to North Carolina in January.
This coming week has meetings and two holiday parties, but I am far behind in getting our house ready for Christmas, and I've barely bought anything. I know it will all come together, but I know I want time to finalize my 2024 business plan as well.

Last week on the blog, I reviewed the following:
My reading time has been next to none, but I finished this inspirational romance that spent numerous weeks on the Publisher's Weekly bestsellers list.
Nine hours left on this next one. I am going to make it through the next chapter to see if I will proceed.
I'm on the fence about this one. I listened to some of it this week, but it seems repetitive. It also took the author over an an hour to get through the first chapter.
Upcoming virtual book tours:
- A Yellow House in the Mountains by Glenn Hileman - January 17 (review)
- Civil Twilight by Anique Taylor - January 23 (guest post)
- The Location Shoot by Patricia Leavy - January 31 (interview)
- Christmas Errors, Flubs & Fails: 2023 Internet Browsing
- Christmas Music: Spotify Christmas Playlist
- Christmas News: Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" Hits Number 1
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
Last week's mailbox was empty, but I grabbed these two Kindle freebies.
I used an Audible credit to grab this one.
We are expecting a damp and rainy day, but I have a busy schedule, so I'll be in and out. I'll check in with your blogs as soon as I can.

Your photos and parties look so good! Enjoy your books, too.
I'm curious about your audible buy. I hope you have a good week and hopefully find a few moments to read.
Awww, cute cats. My boxing gym does the adopt a family thing. The gifts kind of take over the entire gym until my town's task force comes to collect them. It's awesome.
Thanks, Laurel.
Thanks, Mary. I thought it sounded interesting.
Thanks, AJ. We love Adopt A Family.
Appreciate your visits today.
Your holiday season seems so busy! We favor a laid-back sort here. Maybe we'll put up a tree, maybe not... Either way is fine with me. Enjoy your season! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
Great pics! Sounds like a very busy time for you. The inspirational romance you read looks like a good book. Hope this week isn't too crazy for you.
Definitely busy around here, Kathy, but I thrive on busy. Hope you have a fabulous season as well.
Thanks, Yvonne. We like busy around here. Hope you get a chance to check out Jill's latest.
Thanks to both of you for visiting today.
Kind of the cats to help with the lights! Lovely to have your daughter back for awhile over Christmas. Enjoy your reading when you can get to it.
It's such a busy time of year. But it's nice when the kids are home for the holidys. :)
Love the cats!
Yes, I agree, Greg. Fun to have her home. Thanks for visiting today.
Kathryn, the cats are always good about "helping." Thanks for stopping by.
Oh - I can just imagine the cats helping with lights.
Thanks for the heads up on Forever Christmas which I just added to my Kindle library.
Hope you enjoy your activities and decorations. Happy Reading!
It's nice to start thinking about what we want to do for next year. I'm trying to sort out the things I really want to do during the time I have left in this world! I think it's good to let go of some things so that others can take them on.
Good title for your last book. People so often mix up both. Of course we can't forget, that's not the point, the point is forgiving. I hope the author offers good tools, though I would have a hard time doing this outside of my religious context
Looks like you had a good time. I hope you are ready to write that romance novel! :)
