Book Review: Questions That Will Get You (And Others) Talking by Diane Weston

Communication Enthusiast Diane Weston, author of Small Talk: How to Start a Conversation, Truly Connect with Others and Make a Killer First Impression and Emotional Intelligence: Why Emotions Are Great Tools But Bad Bosses, is back with her latest book, Questions That Will Get You (And Others) Talking.

In this helpful reference, you'll find over 1000 questions geared toward inspiring engaging conversations that will allow you to form a deeper connection with those around you.

Three years ago, I reviewed Small Talk and found it to be a fabulous resource. So, I was eager to review Weston's latest book. Questions That Will Get You (And Others) Talking starts off with a quote and introduction on the value of being able to talk about any subject. It then goes into a series of questions separated into ten-question sections that become more in depth as you work through each section. The book's design has these questions appearing on pages with black and white images similar to what we see on the cover.

Questions That Will Get You (And Others) Talking is definitely useful in helping you break the ice and eliminate boring conversations. This book will also help you get to know yourself better and make you feel more comfortable sharing your story. What I wish this book included is more of Weston's insight, tips, and techniques, which I found so helpful in Small Talk. Part of what makes people more comfortable around you is body language and facial expressions, so I would have hoped for some discussion and tips around presenting these questions to your audience as well. Where I feel this book truly excels is in the area of discovering yourself and making you more relaxed about sharing your life with others.

If you're looking to spark up natural and and meaningful conversations with anyone, anywhere, at any time, then Questions That Will Get You (And Others) Talking is the book for you!
