It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday - Jan 10

Welcome to It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

We are back to Monday again. My first week proved to be hectic at work, but I will spare you the details. I still haven't put away the Christmas decorations, but the outside lights are down. The fun this week was going prom dress shopping. She didn't choose anything yet, but the Lil' Princess found some potentials. Though she really liked the red one, she wore red to last year's prom, so she probably won't choose that one. I can't believe our baby will graduate from high school in five months.

Absolutely nothing going on in my reading world.  I didn't even open a book because of the other commitments I had this week.

I hope to read some from this one tonight.

I will review the first chapter of this one on January 25.

My review of this poetry collection will appear on January 26.

These two don't have a deadline, but I would like to get them read this month.

After that, I need to review this one at my children's book blog in February.

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

For some reason, I am on a book buying spree lately. I will take a break for a while once all of the books arrive. Here are the two newest that arrived in my mailbox.

I couldn't find a better picture of this used book. It is Yesterday, Today & Forever by Maria von Trapp.

Bill and I know each other through a publishing house. Now that they are out of business, he self-published this one.

I also picked up this book on Kindle.

Though I am primarily an editor, I work with authors to create a more marketable product. It makes me wonder if book coaching is a service I should add. I thought I would give this book a try.

That's it for me. I hope you'll share your reading and new arrivals this week.

Great looking prom dresses! I can see why it would be hard to choose. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

The violet (gray?) dress is gorgeous! Have a wonderful week. Everything but the outdoor lights are put away at my house. Just too cold to go out and take them off the shrubs.

Thanks, Kathy. She tried on some others at a different store, but didn't have any luck.

I think that dress is a periwinkle blue, Mary. I took the outside lights off because we expected snow followed by ice, and I didn't want them stuck to the bushes until the thaw. It is going to be quite cold here the next two days.

Thanks for visiting.

It's hard when our kids grow up. My daughter graduated a year and a half ago and my son will either graduate this year (early) or next year. I hope you are able to get to your books soon! https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/01/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-2-22.html

Your daughter does look stunning in red. I found prom (formal as we call it in Australia) dress shopping to be quite stressful. I hope you get some reading time in this week.

You're daughter is gorgeous in that red dress. I hope she finds something she loves.

I love the pale violet one, but any she chooses will be a hit! I have given away over half of my books and have stopped at that! I'm still getting a book here and there so in no time, my shelves will be full again. Let us know how to read and get paid for it. It should make many of us readers quite wealthy!

Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't taken down my Christmas decorations! The beginning of the year is just so busy! Oh well, maybe I will get to it today. Happy New Year! - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

It sounds like you’re reading some wonderful books! :)

Cindy, we never believe people when they say it will go so quickly. Then, before you know it, our kids are adults.

Thanks Veronica and Savvy. I think red is a good color for her, too. I don't find the dress shopping stressful as much as trying to fit it in between everything else.

Thanks, Harvee. She really liked that one. I give away books once or twice a year. I still have too many.

Melinda, it takes me days to put them all up. I really should pull them down on New Year's weekend, but I rarely do.

Lydia, I am enjoying them.

Thanks to all for visiting.

Lovely dresses. I like the soft blue.
I hope you get dome reading in this week.
The Von Trapp book may be a nice read.
Have a good rest of the week and Happy Reading!
