The Book Connection's Big Summer 2010 Book Giveaway!

Around this time last year my shelves were so filled with reviewed books I began donating them to my local library and holding a variety of giveaways here at The Book Connection.

This year there will be more giveaways and more chances for you to win some great books throughout the summer. I made the decision to take 7 of the oldest books from my TBR Pile and add them to this giveaway. These are not books I had promised to review. They are ones I received from former virtual book tour clients or as thank you gifts for hosting an author at my blog. It is unlikely that I will be able to review them anytime soon, so I thought it would be best to give interested readers a chance at them.



There are 10 Book Packs up for grabs this year in a variety of genres. Starting on Monday, July 19th, I will begin posting information about the current week's giveaway opportunity. Each giveaway will end at 11:59 PM Eastern on that Saturday night, so the first week's deadline to enter is 11:59 PM Eastern on July 24th.

These giveaways will only be open to residents of the United States and Canada. No emails will be sent to notify the winners. Winners can claim their prize by clicking the Contact Me button in the sidebar and sending along their mailing address. Winners will have 72 hours from the time names are announced to claim their prize. An alternative winner will be selected after the 72 hour window has passed. If you win a prize, please wait one week before entering another giveaway. Prizes will be shipped media mail through the United States Postal Service.

We're Back and Vacation Time Reading

We arrived in Massachusetts earlier today. As always, the Outer Banks was fabulous. I highly recommend it to families of all sizes, especially those who enjoy water sports, fishing, and local arts and culture.

As I mentioned at Book Tours and More this week, this was partially a working vacation. In addition to writing projects and virtual book tours, I read and reviewed the following books:

Prairie Tale by Melissa Gilbert (reviewed July 5th)

The Last Operative by Jerry B. Jenkins (reviewed July 11th)

State of Reservations, Book 3 in the JGDS series by Elysabeth Eldering (reviewed July 12th)

Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James (review will appear at Book Tours and More on July 29th)

Plan B by Steven Verrier (review will be posted at The Children's and Teens' Book Connection on July 30th)

I also read Lingering Spirit by Marilyn Meredith, Evenings on Dark Island by Rhett DeVane and Larry Rock, Bowdancer III--Warrior Women by Janie Franz, and Capturing Karma by K.M. Daughters, the fourth book in The Sullivan Boys series. Reviews for three of these will appear soon. I am writing up a cover blurb for Bowdancer III.

It was wonderful to be away, but it is nice to come home and be in a familiar place where you can relax comfortably without dreading a long ride afterwards.
