First Chapter Review: Tactics, Trends, & Traits of the Enemy by Jermaine Gadson

Jermaine Gadson's book Tactics, Trends, & Traits of the Enemy is about a topic I find fascinating and important to every Christian's journey: spiritual warfare. It is currently available for pre-order at Amazon and is scheduled for release on June 30.

BLURB:  Tactics, Trends, and Traits of the Enemy by author Jermaine Gadson is a must have resource for believers who want to be well equipped to be victorious against the strategies of the devil. The devil is cunning and deceptive, and he will stop at nothing to keep God's people from reaching their potential in Christ. In this book, Pastor Gadson discusses how the enemy uses temptation, seduction, fear, isolation, guilt, shame, and other such things in order to steal and destroy a person's life. Satan works tirelessly through various means and mechanisms to keep sinners from hearing and being receptive of the Word of God, in order to prevent them from being saved. If you have family or friends who are not born-again, this resource will help you to identify schemes that the enemy may be using to keep your loved ones from being saved. This book is intended to equip the Body of Christ to wage a good warfare against the strategies of the enemy. It is not God's will for His people to be taken advantage of by the enemy because of ignorance. This book exposes who the enemy is, what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will try to do in the future, as an enemy of God's people. This book is written for the everyday believer to be able to understand and use. However, it is also a helpful tool for Christian leaders to be able to identify specific ways in which the enemy desires to attack them in order to steal their influence, kill their destiny, and destroy their reputation and ministries. In this regard, it is an encouragement to the Body of Christ to guard and protect their spiritual leaders.

COVER: This is a perfect cover for this book. Christians are in a war against Satan and his demons. We are soldiers in God's army. This cover powerfully portrays that.

FIRST CHAPTER: Gadson starts at the beginning, realizing that in order to equip Christians for battle, they must know where Satan came from, the purpose of angels and humans in their relationship with God, and why Satan spends so much time trying to destroy humans' relationship with God. The chapter ends with a list of Biblical names given to the enemy and where in the Bible this name is used.

KEEP READING: After reading the preface and introduction, I already knew I liked Gadson's style. He's humbly sharing his insights from studying the Word of God and his experiences as a believer to better prepare the Body of Christ for a battle against an all too real enemy. His conversational manner is welcoming and engaging. The first chapter isn't overly long, either, so you can read it, digest it, and truly consider all he has to say and what this book will be about before moving on. He's written a book for you and for me, not some academic account that is over most people's heads. I look forward to reading more.

Book Spotlight: Twelve Months by Steven Manchester

Don DiMarco has a very good life – a family
he loves, a comfortable lifestyle, passions and interests that keep him amused. He also thought he had time, but that turned out not to be the case. Faced with news that might have immediately felled most, Don now wonders if he has time enough. Time enough to show his wife the romance he didn’t always lavish on her. Time enough to live out his most ambitious fantasies. Time enough to close the circle on some of his most aching unresolved relationships. Summoning an inner strength he barely realized he possessed, Don sets off to prove that twelve months is time enough to live a life in full.

A glorious celebration of each and every moment that we’re given here on Earth, as well as the eternal bonds that we all share, Twelve Months is a stirring testament to the power of the human spirit.
