Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Welcome to July! Today is a Top Ten Tuesday Freebie/Throwback, so I decided to review the bookish promises I made in January.
Top Ten Bookish Promises for 2025
Complete my Goodreads challenge
I am behind on this goal. I adjusted the number of books because I feel like the second half of 2025 is going to be busier than the first. I have some reviews to post, but even with those, I will be behind eight books. We will see how the year goes.
Read 15 books from my TBR Pile.
I've read seven books from my TBR pile this year, so I am on track to complete this one if I don't take on too many virtual book tour requests.
Read 4 leadership books.
I haven't indulged in any of these this year, instead focusing more on personal development.
Read 2 personal or professional development books.
I finished one personal development book, which I haven't talked about yet.
Read a book in a genre I don't usually read.
I completed this early on when I read the dark psychological fantasy thriller, Ghosting Academy.
Complete Amelia's Mission.
Haven't touched this at all this year. Not looking good for the second half of the year.
Complete Sheltered Hearts.
Haven't touched this one either. Work, wedding, and editing have kept me busy. Partially disappointed that I never heard back from that literary agent, which didn't encourage me to continue either. I will reach out sometime in July, and then move on if nothing concrete happens. Still, I need to move forward with this and plot the next book.
Invest in a new author website.
I was thrilled to finally update my author website this year. I love the new look.
Plot the last book in the series.
I haven't done much with this, but I already know who it will be about. I need to finalize Sheltered Hearts first.
Complete NaNoWriMo.
Since NaNoWriMo has been dissolved, this item is no longer relevant. It doesn't mean I couldn't spend a month writing a book, but I certainly wouldn't do it in November.
How are your bookish goals/promises coming along?
