The Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge is hosted by Long and Short Reviews. They offer this blog hop as a weekly prompt to help you gain new friends and visitors. You don't have to participate every week, but consistent blogging seems to be the key to success. I can say that when I participate in weekly memes and challenges, I see the most traffic and comments at The Book Connection.
If you decide to post and join the blog hop for a week, Long and Short Reviews asks that you share your link on their weekly post on their website (it will be the top post on the home page each Wednesday morning). The link list remains open for new links for 48 hours. Then visit the other bloggers participating to see what they are talking about that week. Comments are appreciated.
Hobbies is such a great topic. I've had several throughout the decades. Some I no longer have time for, like cross-stitching. Maybe in retirement I will pick it up again. Honestly, I haven't missed it, even though I did enjoy it.
There are hobbies I'm really not good at. Take gardening, for example. Through the years I've improved, but if there is a way to kill something, I have probably done it. Three of my seed packets arrived from Burpee last week. For the first time in twenty years, I am going to start seeds inside. We will see how interesting that is to the cats.
The other hobby I enjoy and am good at is baking. Now, I can't make fancy cakes or elegant pastries, but breads, desserts, pies, and cookies are all yummy. Since I've chosen to eat fewer sweets, though it is killing me, I don't make them as often as I used to, but I love spending time in the kitchen.
What are some of your hobbies? Do we share any?

I like to bake and I'm pretty good at it but I just can't with gardening 🤣. I do envy those who enjoy it, it's supposed to be very meditative.
I don't like to bake (I'm horrid at it). I do love gardening but I'm pretty bad at it too. S'pose I'll stick with loving cooking and music and let someone else bake and garden for me.
You and I are a lot alike. I'm really good at killing innocent plants. And, if I manage to keep one alive, it gets eaten by a feline terrorist. Hahaha. I also love to cook and bake and am pretty decent at it as well.
My post
I love looking at other people’s gardens! My allergies would make it hard for me to spend much time with my face near flowers and soil stuff, though, so I’m glad other people can do it.
Gardening is something I'm off and on about. I'd love to do more of it, but between neighborhood pets running wild, neighborhood kids running wild, PLUS wildlife --
I'm with you re: cross stitch... I enjoyed it, but don't miss it. I TRY to garden, but it's not our forte (we planted potatoes last year... my husband estimated we probably got our potatoes at $30/lb... lol). I have a couple beds in the front I try to have pretty in the spring.. other than that, the yard pretty well takes care of itself. My post is here.
There is definitely something about being outside and soaking in the sun that is calming. That is until I have the weed the darn thing. :) Thanks for visiting, George.
We all have our strengths, Kathy. I will definitely never have a beautiful garden. Thanks for visiting.
LOL! I killed a cactus once, Aymee. Do you have a favorite recipe? Thanks for visiting.
That sounds like it wouldn't be worth doing, Lydia. No gardens for you. :) Thanks for visiting today.
Yikes! Doesn't sound like it would be worth the investment of time and money, Stephen. Too many pests. :) Thanks for visiting today.
The cost oof gardening is why I almost stopped. If I wasn't doing seeds inside this year, I don't know that I would invest money in plants again. Potatoes are one of two things I grow well. The other is green beans. Potato bags working wonderfully. Thanks for visiting today, Judy.
It's honestly really easy to kill a cactus - you just overwater it! I have tons of favorite recipes, but one of my family's favorites are chimichurri meatballs.
I can't say I'm any good at either baking or gardening, but I do enjoy cooking when I have the time and energy... and we do have a blackberry bush that is slowly taking over the back yard (and providing some sort of Beneficent Home for Wayward Bunnies in the process).
Oh, a blackberry bush! Good for the bunnies. We used to have those bushes around the yard, but we took them out because of the thorns. I have planted thornless ones. We will need to see how they grow. Thanks for visiting, Michael.
