It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
Happy Monday! I hope all you moms out there had a lovely Mother's Day. We spent it with the kids, so that was nice. After a cold, windy Saturday we had a warmer day on Sunday. I didn't get as much done last week as I would have liked, but I'm getting back into the swing of things.
In my reading world, I reviewed these books at The Children's and Teens' Book Connection. the author is running a giveaway.
I finished this one. It wasn't what I expected, but the cover sure is pretty.
I also read this one, and my review will appear on my children's book blog on Wednesday.
I am still reading this one.
I really want to read this one next. I'm in a Little House mood lately.
I would also like to re-read this novel. I loved this book the first time I read it. I've read it at least three times since the mini-series came out in 1983. Did you ever read it? Have you ever seen the mini-series?
That is it from my neck of the woods. Hope you have a nice week.

I read The Thorn Birds once many years ago, not sure I'd reread but maybe I could, would probably see it differently with so many years gone by.
I loved The Thorn Birds when I read it in my teens. I thought it was terribly shocking! I haven't reread it though.
I was very young when I read the Thorn Birds. I found it sad, emotional but absolutely riveting.
Kathryn, when I read I skip over a lot of the narrative and descriptions of scenery. It's the character interaction I most want to remember. It's a long book encompassing many decades, so I pick out what I want to read most.
Marg and Mystica, it is a shocking and emotional story; especially shocking back then. I recall when the mini-series came out during Holy Week in 1983 the church discouraged their members from watching it.
Thanks for visiting.
LOVED The Thornbirds!!
Your new blog design is beautiful!!
Take care.
I have been watching clips from the mini-series on Youtube, Elizabeth. It has been so long since I've seen it. Glad you like the new design. Thanks for stopping by.
I did read The Thorn Birds and watched to TV movie (show?). Didn't it star Richard Chamberlain? Come see my week here. Happy reading!
You're right, Kathy. It did star Richard Chamberlain. Thanks for visiting.
I read it a very long time ago, but my parents met Colleen McCullogh at a party a few years ago and bought me home a signed personalised copy of The Thorn Birds.
Wishing you a great reading week, stay well x
I loved The Thorn Birds and watched the show. Have a great week!
Shelleyrae, I am jealous. What a great gift. Cindy, I really want to read the book again now that I've been watching clips from the mini-series; though I was totally disappointed when I read the book to discover TV Ralph and book Ralph looked nothing alike. :)
