It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & Musing Monday

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

It's Monday again...and boy does it feel like one. At least the sun is shining and it will get to about 45 degrees today.

In my reading world I am finishing up this one. Look for my review tomorrow.

Next up will be this one...good thing too, because my house needs some real organizational help lately.

I also need to finish this one because I started it in February while on vacation, but had to review other books first. I also received the next book in the series, so better get moving on this one.

These cute books are due for review this month over at The Children's and Teens' Book Connection

Musing Monday is hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker It is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

I’m currently reading…
Up next I think I’ll read…
I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
I can’t wait to get a copy of…
I wish I could read ___, but…
I blogged about ____ this past week…

THIS WEEK'S RANDOM QUESTION: Why did you become a reader? Series or stand alone which do you prefer?

I am so happy to see Musing Monday is back. I've missed it.

Last week on my blog were reviews for the poetry collection How I Love the Empty Air and the Amish novel A Mother's Gift

As for this week's question, right now I am into stand alone books simply because I have so little reading time. Whenever I discover a new book in a series, I know I'll want to read previous books or I won't want to review the latest book until I read the previous installments. I might try out a trilogy, but can't commit beyond that.

What is going on in your reading and blogging world this week?

I believe I don't have a preference. Series or stand-alone, it doesn't matter, the story is always the most important part. I'll read anything, just as long as the content speaks to me. However, I do tend to read more stand alones.

I'm currently reading Invisible Monsters Remix by Chuck Palahniuk. A nice surprise seen as it is a hopping-chapters book and I've never read one of those before! :)

I'll look forward to your review of Moonlight Harbor, hopefully I'll catch up with it next week.

I also prefer standalones right now. Series are too much of a time commitment. Have a great week!

Hot Mess looks like it would be a fun read - hopefully also practical! I'm also reading The Pirate Bride, among other things: http://bit.ly/2JxDsm4

Thanks for stopping by, everyone. I think I stopped by each of your blogs. Kym and pussreboots, Hot Mess seems very popular. Eager to dive back into it. Hope you all have a wonderful week.
