Musing Mondays - December 14

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme sponsored by Jenn of A Daily Rhythm that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:
  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: What books are you hoping to get for Christmas (whether as gifts, or ones you’ll purchase yourself)?

Just another thing to love about this time of year is the books we're hoping to get from someone or the ones we can gift to ourselves. Usually, I won't spend a lot on myself this time of year because our focus is on the kids. So, that means used book sales for me. I don't mind.

I do, however, maintain a healthy Amazon Wish List in case the hubby decides to pick me up something. Here are a few books from that list I am hoping to receive.

  • Downton Abbey - A Celebration: The Official Companion to All Six Seasons by Jessica Fellowes
  • Hotel Moscow: A Novel by Talia Carner
  • The Wright Brothers by David Mccollough
  • Stein On Writing: A Master Editor of Some of the Most Successful Writers of Our Century Shares His Craft Techniques and Strategies by Sol Stein
  • Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune by Bill Dedman and Paul Clark Jr. Newell
  • A Christmas Gift by Kathi Macias
  • Return to Christmas: A Novel by Kathi Macias
What are some books you hope to receive this year?

Thanks for visiting, ladies. Geraldine, I didn't see that you were still blogging, so I hope I didn't miss anything. Laurel, I think the funny thing is that we even still ask for books when we have tons already.

Hey Cheryl,
I only started blogging again recently - been a bit busy for the last year or so, and I'm glad to be back in the blogging community! :)
