Musing Mondays - Mar 9

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme sponsored by MizB of A Daily Rhythm (formerly Should Be Reading) that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:
  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…
THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Who (or what) influences your reading most?

What a great question for this week. Before last year, I would say my blogging schedule was the largest influence on my reading. I simply had so much going on with book tours that my reading time wasn't always my own.

Lately, my mood comes more into play. I still have the occasional book to review, but now that I am not participating in so many books tours, when I feel like reading a mystery, I read that. If I want a funny romance, I grab that. I'm looking to add more non-fiction into my regular reading schedule too. And darn it, if it kills me, I will read every book I agreed to review for an author that lingers in my TBR pile.

What are you musing about this week?

Like you I've made more space for my own choices this year although I do still have a fair few review copies and I'm enjoying the balance and feeling slightly less guilty about my book stockpile!

I agree with you, I enjoy reading more when I make the decision purely off of what I want to read at the time. I'm musing about book trailers this week. :)

Good post. I think other bloggers' reviews can influence my reading. There are just so many great reviews out there! Also, NetGalley . . . I am introduced to so many great books thanks to NetGalley.

I am also influenced by blogging...and this year, I am trying to find more time to read the great books I've already bought...and minimize the review books I accept.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Thanks for stopping by, ladies. I enjoyed visiting your blogs yesterday.

Right now, I am thinking about reading books set in spring to see if I can influence Old Man Winter to pack up and leave New England for the season.
