Author Interview: Mike Manos, Author of God's Poor

Today our special guest is Mike Manos, author of God's Poor. We'll talk to Mike today about his book, his inspiration, and what's up next.

Welcome to The Book Connection, Mike. It's great to have you with us. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I'm a Professor of Economics and a scholar of History and Archaeology. A poet and a freelance writer. Married to Vicky, a singer and an actress.

Where did you grow up?

Astoria NY.

What is your fondest childhood memory?

Taking boat rides in Central Park NY.

When did you begin writing?

At the age of 12, a notebook full of poems.

Do you write during the day, at night or whenever you can sneak a few moments?

Usually during the night.

What is this book about?

The sudden deaths of pregnant women rock the world.
A deadly virus causes world panic.
A dangerous heresy reemerges from the misty past.
The Catholic and Orthodox Christian Churches face an unknown enemy.
Mossant reveals dangerous secrets that threaten religious foundations.
The quest for immortality leads to the first Jerusalem and incredible revelations.
Finally an earthquake produced by HAARP gives a temporary solution.

What inspired you to write it?

A visi to mount Athos, the Holy mountain of Greece.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My wife Vicky.

Are you a member of a critique group? If no, who provides feedback on your work?

No. Fellow professors.

Who is your favorite author?

Albert Camus.

Do you have an agent or are you looking for one?

Looking for one.

Was the road to publication smooth sailing or a bumpy ride?

A bumpy ride.

If you knew then, what you know now, is there anything you would have done differently?

Most likely no.
