If you're looking for an entertaining book that is sure to give your favorite young reader a few laughs, then buy
You Think It's Easy Being the Tooth Fairy? by Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt.
In this humorous tale, the tooth fairy tells it like it is. She doesn't wear pink flouncing skirts or twinkling glass slippers like Cinderella and she doesn't rely on elves or flying reindeer to help her out like Santa does. Her job is tough, it takes skill, and you must be aware of all the dangers.
My daughters (ages 7 and 5) and I got a huge kick out of this book. This is one fairy who isn't quiet and shy. She speaks directly to the reader and shares her nightly adventures in a fun way. And then she lists her Dos and Don'ts for where to place your teeth for her to collect. I haven't laughed this much with a children's book in a long time.
Special mention goes out to illustrator David Slonim. Every picture in this book worked well with the lightheartedness of the book. The pictures of children from different areas of the world were a big hit with my girls.
If you have a child who is scared of losing teeth or would love to give your young reader a fun treat for the holidays,
You Think It's Easy Being the Tooth Fairy? is the perfect read!
