Audible Book Review: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (Original Classic Edition)

 

Up until the moment when I sat down to write this review, I didn't realize the Audible version I downloaded was the Original Classic Edition of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. What readers should be aware of is that some of the material may not be suitable for or may be offensive to a modern audience. If you are looking for the updated version, they have it available in paperback. 

In this classic, bestselling personal development book, Hill shares his steps to riches, also widely known as his Principles of Personal Achievement. Using real life examples like Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, and Edward C. Barnes, Hill shares the importance of setting a goal and using autosuggestion to influence your mind, along with ways to put your desires into action. Hill discusses the importance of removing negative thoughts, avoiding evil, and how to outwit fear.

Having read the Original Classic Edition, I certainly want to take out the paperback version that I own and read the updated one, using it alongside the workbook I have. Hill's philosophy was revolutionary at the time and inspired a variety of future life and business coaches in one way or another. 

They made a movie from the book titled, Think and Grow Rich: The Legacy. While I haven't watched the whole movie yet, I've seen clips. This clip might best explain what you can expect from Hill: 

If you are looking to embrace how positive thinking, goal setting, and the application of Hill's Principles of Personal Achievement can work in your life, start by reading Think and Grow Rich.

Welcome back to Monday! I am posting this early because I am in Boston participating in REALTOR® Day on Beacon Hill. It is so fun to visit our state legislators and discuss issues facing property owners across the Commonwealth. 

Last week was a mixed bag. We lost a good friend. A client of mine lost her mother unexpectedly, so please keep her family up in prayer. Met my oldest sister for breakfast one morning. Had inspections at a listing of mine that is under contract. Sunday evening, our family got to play a couple of games of UNO, which we haven't done in forever. I received a new editing project as well.

Welcome to the first Monday of December. When we started this year in January, did you think time would pass so quickly? I swear, when we were kids, it took forever to get to the holidays. 

My hope was that last week would allow me some time to decorate, but I've barely started. The good thing is that I surpassed 50,000 words on my NaNoWriMo project on November 28th, and typed "The End" on December 2nd. Now comes the editing, which I really enjoy. Thankfully, the Lil' Diva and her friends put up outdoor Christmas lights Saturday night.

Travis helped inspect the lights.

Also over the weekend, the Lil' Diva danced at the Festival of Trees in support of the Springfield Boys & Girls Club. It is so fun to watch her dance. 

Dwight was keeping an eye on Giggles one morning. Not sure what she saw out the window, but it was probably a bird.

Nine hours left on this next one. I am going to make it through the next chapter to see if I will proceed.

The only book in my mailbox this week was another one I grabbed with a gift card. It's a topic I find fascinating, though I don't know if this book will make it to the top of my list in 2024.

Welcome back! Here we are at the last Monday in November. It is Sunday as I am writing this, and I passed 46,000 words for my NaNoWriMo project. This is actually going to be a crazy work week, so I am doing my best to stay focused and hopefully finish on time.

Nothing last week because I truly want to finish NaNoWriMo. I did, however, pre-order the latest biography from a cast member of Little House on the Prairie. Dean Butler, who played Almanzo Wilder, has a book coming out in June 2024.
