What a fabulous topic for this week. There are so many books I've totally forgotten were on my list. That's why I like the Shelf Control book blog meme on Wednesday. It reminds me what I have...even if I don't remember why a book is there.

I am surprised this is on my list from 2014. Still relevant, it is the story of how one woman's way of coping turns to addiction. It has mostly good reviews, but I just can't see me reading a story on this topic.
Also added in 2014, this is a story of redemption. I'm thinking I would like it, and I have enjoyed Graham's other stories, but I can't imagine me wanting to read a story about a ruthless hitman.
This seems like it should be me, right? Woman inherits a defunct bakery in east Tennessee. She plans to sell it, but the townsfolk are so nice and welcoming. Then in walks the handsome guy. This is a Christmas time romance similar to what we see on Hallmark Movie Channel. Maybe that's what attracted me to it, but it is so little of what I read. I just think these stories come out better as movies.
Added to my list in 2016, I seem to recall hearing good things about this one. One young woman mourning the loss of her mother from suicide, an unexpected pregnancy, a love triangle and friendship blend together in this novel. For the life of me, however, I can't recall what drew me to this story.
Maybe this got added to my TBR pile because it is a classic, and I feel I should read more of those. Why I would want to read a story about four thrill seekers who arrive at the notoriously unfriendly Hill House and wind up a target of the evil powers of the house is beyond me.
This is the third book in the Gibson Vaughn series--which makes it a no-no for me. With rare exception, I won't start a series in the middle...unless it happens by accident. The main character is a former Marine and a hacker, so I only partially like him to begin with. He ends up turning to vengeance, which makes it even less likely I would read it.
This one I have absolutely no idea how it snuck into the pile. Takes place in the former United States. The main character is the sole survivor of a viral magic that killed his family and made him a technopath. Not even close to my cup of tea. It's not even on the same table.
Book #14 in the series? I never even read 1 through 13. Abbess Philippa Gould leads a home filled with recusant women who is in possession of an ancient book believed by some to be heretical. The main character, Ursula, is sent to retrieve the book, but the first two emissaries sent on the same mission disappeared. In some ways, this would interest me, but I don't even remember it or where I would have seen it to add to my list.
Another one where I am shaking my head. Added in 2019, I have no clue what attracted me to this book. Tunnels and rooms with the main character searching for his door. Really, no idea why it's on my list.
Okay, nice looking guy on the cover. Still don't know that's a reason to add a book to my list. Lexi Burke leaves a wintry Chicago to vacation in Kauai. While there, she meets a local photographer with a grudge against rich tourists. She likes him, but struggles with trying to tell him the truth about herself. Not really a me kind of story.
