Book Review: 40 Days to a Deeper Walk with God by Kathi Macias

 

Looking for a meaningful devotional sharing life lessons from the Bible? Look no further than 40 Days to a Deeper Walk with God by Kathi Macias. 

In this 2021 devotional, award-winning Christian author, Kathi Macias, brings the Scriptures up close and personal, sharing how they apply to life today. Each day starts with a portion of Scripture, followed by a story shared by the author. Some stories connect to Macias' life, while others are about friends or life in general. Each story, however, connects back to the portion of daily Scripture. At the end of each day, there is a "Make it personal" section with engaging comments and questions followed by blank lines for the reader to share their own thoughts and feelings.

Macias has been one of my favorite authors since 2008. I've only read a handful of the more than fifty books she has written, but I added several books to my collection this year. She is one of a small group of authors whose books I keep, because I find myself talking about them time and again. 

Though 40 Days to a Deeper Walk with God is not a Lenten-specific devotional, I felt this season was the perfect one to embark upon this journey to a deeper, more intimate, relationship with my God and Savior. 

If you enjoy or are in need of a devotional, I highly recommend this one.
