It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & Mailbox Monday - Jan 26

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome, everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and was then taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Happy snowy Monday--at least for us anyway. Mother Nature dumped between 17 and 20 inches on us yesterday. It's snowing again. We are expecting a couple more inches or so before it ends tonight. I rescheduled my appointments for today, so I have been working from home the last two days. Here are a few photos from this weekend:

Snowfall last night at about 7 pm

Chili and cornbread for supper

Added some Valentine's Day cheer
to the mantle

I continued reading the Christian short story collection Chapters and Second Chances by Evelyn Grace Berry this week.

I did not read I Heard the Bells. Though I wanted to finish it this month, it will likely be February before it is done.

I read some of Hooked by Cailtin Rother last week. I need to finish this one soon.

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books they added to their shelves the previous week. This weekly meme is now hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach

A Saltwater Christmas by Laurie Beach is a newsletter freebie.

Marianne: A Sense and Sensibility Sequel by Alice McVeigh is a Booktrovert selection.

That's a substantial amount of snow. Great minds! Chili and cornbread were on our menu this past week too. Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy reading!

Yum! I love cornbread! My grandmother taught me to crumble it up in a glass of milk and eat it that way. I haven't done that in forever.

That's a lot of snow! I'm glad you were able to work from home.

We got a lot of snow, but not as much as you!
I have vegetarian chili in the Crock Pot, just about ready, but it's for the freezer because my husband made a cornbread covered pork and bean chili dish yesterday and we'll be eating the leftovers tonight!
I had a snow day today (library closed) but we're opening regular hours tomorrow.

I have not been anywhere since Friday, but I do plan to get out tomorrow, hopefully the roads will be decent. You all got a ton of snow, enjoy it, LOL! Have a great week!

That seems like a lot of snow, it’s good that you can work from home so you don’t have to try to drive in it.
Stay safe and warm, wishing you a wonderful reading week

Way too much, Kathy. Chili and cornbread is such a great cold weather meal. Thanks for visiting.

That sounds like a great way to eat cornbread, Jen! I break off pieces and use it to soak up liquids (like soup and chili). One of the great things about real estate is my ability to work from home when I need to. Thanks for visiting.

All that food sounds delicious, Laurie. Nice that they gave you the day off. Hope you had a chance to read. Thanks for visiting.

Being housebound for a couple of days was so weird for me, but I loved it, Cindy. Great to see you here today.

Unusual amount for us, Yvonne, but it can happen. Hope you enjoy your week. Thanks for visiting.

Too much snow for my tastes, Shelleyrae. I love having the ability to work from home. Hope you have a fabulous week. Thanks for visiting.

So much snow and ice you are having. We saw it on our news, and loss of life that it has caused. Good to be home and hopefully your power stays, or stayed probably at this point. Happy reading.
