It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome, everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and was then taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
Hello, everyone. Hope you had a nice week. It is the wee hours of Monday morning, and my mind is rambling. It was an emotional weekend. The Lil' Diva moved into her new house. It's quiet here. No TV show noises coming from across the hallway. No loud conversations as she Facetimes friends. No music. Just quiet. Well, except for Dwight scratching at her bedroom door to be let in. But her bed isn't there. She isn't there. I thought I was ready, but I wasn't. Still, I am thrilled for her as she embarks upon this new chapter in her life.
Here are a few photos from the week:
Theo keeping me from making the bed
In my reading world, I finished The Bell Tolls at Traeger Hall by Jaime Jo Wright. Amazing book! Look for my review and a giveaway later this week.
I didn't touch The Curiosities by W.H. Eatons this week, but it archives in twelve days, so I need to get going.
I started The Man Next Door by Sheila Roberts. My review is coming soon.
Singing the Forge by G. H. Mosson will be next.

I want to read Old Flames, New Beginnings by Lea Schizas during the holiday season.
Eager to read Crescent City Christmas Chaos by Ellen Byron for a November review.
Also looking forward to reviewing Charlie Can't Sleep by Rachel Joy Welcher.
Will be posting a First Chapter Review of A Quarterback for Christmas by Linda West in November.
Ms. Pennypickle's Puzzle Quest by Chris Grabenstein will also be archived in twelve days.

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books they added to their shelves the previous week. This weekly meme is now hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach.
I picked up Thistlewood Manor: A Speakeasy Demise by Fiona Grace as part of Chirp's sale on Friday.

Nothing new at The Children's and Teens' Book Connection this week.
Nothing new at Laura's Little Houses either, but I have ideas.

Treat yourself kindly, the emptying nest is a very tough adjustment.
Wishing you a lovely week
It is an adjustment but the upside is that you raised an independent child who is ready to go out in the world. (Hugs) and enjoy this new phase. I hope you have a great week the fur kids give you extra cuddles.
Yikes! Empty nesting. I agree with Shelly and Mary and have great empathy for you. I'm not sure we are ever ready...It helped me to create a new space in my children's rooms. It is a new chapter for you both. Gentle hugs to you.
I forgot to comment on your reading life! LOL! After reading a bit about Sheila Roberts, I found and checked out her audiobook, The Best Life Book Club. It feels like I need to read Charlie Can't Sleep...we are in the same boat!
A sad time but yet proud time as you see the great job you have done raising an independent young woman. I laughed at Theo, a bit of mischief. Enjoy your reading week.
What a great assortment of books! I liked Crescent City Christmas Chaos and hope you do too. Congrats to your daughter for this step into her future. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
It's hard enough with my kids at college... I am not looking forward to permanent moves. *HUGS*. Currently I'm listening to an ALC of Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore by Emily Krempholtz, Narrated by Emma Ladji. It's a super cute cozy fantasy romance.
Thanks. Always seems like it should be easier, but it's not. Appreciate the visit, Shelleyrae.
True. I just can't stand the quiet. Thanks for visiting, Mary.
Thanks, Miaismine. I don't know if we are ever ready either. I think I will move my office downstairs so it won't seem so lonely up here on the second floor. Appreciate your visit.
Loved The Best Life Bool Club. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks, Kathryn. He is a mischief maker. Appreciate the visit.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kathy. I will have to read your thoughts. Thanks so much. I can't believe she is on her own. Appreciate the visit.
My heart goes out to you, too, Jen. Moving our baby to college was tough. She is about 13 hours away, which means no quick trip homes. I think if she had it to do all over again, she might have stayed closer to home. Your current read sounds great. Hope you have a nice week. Thanks for visiting.
My sister had a terrible time adapting to her kids going to college and then moving out. It is a sad time, remembering those wonderful times of the past, and missing them so much.
Your books look really good. I hope you enjoy them. I have to catch up on the Ellen Byron series. It's a good one. Have a great week!
