Audible Book Review: Your Next Five Moves by Patrick Bet-David

With one of my Audible credits, I picked up a copy of Your Next Five Moves: Master the Art of Business Strategy by Patrick Bet-David. As his online biography states, before Bet-David had turned 30, he had served in the U.S. military, embarked upon his business career, and launched an insurance sales, marketing, and distribution company. His YouTube channel, Valuetainment, has more than 5.2 million subscribers. Bet-David uses it to teach "about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and personal development while inspiring people to break from limiting beliefs or other constraints and achieve their dreams."

In Your Next Five Moves, Bet-David has created an outstanding guide to help you think more clearly so that you can accomplish even the boldest of your business goals. While Bet-David provides a fair amount of his personal history, it flows nicely throughout the chapters. It is quickly clear that he is the perfect person to guide you on how to master the art of business strategy.

Bet-David encourages you to understand what drives you, so that you know what you want and who you want to be. Your Next Five Moves will help you learn how to develop better reasoning skills and how to think on your feet. Bet-David's goal is to help you learn how to grow your business despite what outside influences might be throwing your way. Your Next Five Moves also helps you develop the skills to build the right team based on strong values. If you want a better understanding of the book, I suggest watching this video

One of the most interesting chapters for me was Bet-David's insight into how individuals in organized crime approach situations. While not condoning such a business, he shows what entrepreneurs can gain from studying them. With references from The Godfather movies and noting interviews he has had with mobsters such as Frank Cullotta and others, Bet-David proves his point.

So much of what Bet-David says in Your Next Five Moves resonated with me. You need to know yourself and what you want and work on developing your skills, before you can understand how to build the right team and set your business up for sustained growth. I plan to visit the book's website for the resources cited in the book.

If you're an entrepreneur, Your Next Five Moves should be on your reading list.
