It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday - Mar 27

Welcome to It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Welcome to the last Monday of March. I hope the month has treated you well. It flew by in a blur for me, but life has been good.

Today would have been my mother's 88th birthday. So hard to believe she has been gone nearly 41 years now.

I mentioned last week that we are remodeling the front room. Here is the progress so far.

The husband loves those pillars.

Pillars now gone. As you can see by the wagging tail, Theo likes to be in the thick of things.

Green room turned to gray and French doors installed.

This week, they will install the door handles, put on another coat of paint, and install the curtain rods. Then I just have to move the furniture in and set everything up. It will be good to get the dining room back. A lot of what was in this room moved into the dining room so they could paint.

As far as reading goes, I've started this one for my April 24 review.

After prayer time, I read from this John Maxwell book in the morning.

I've been listening to this one in the car. I'm trying to decide if I will continue. I feel like I have been listening forever, but still have 2.5 hours left. Just when I think I will stop, it provides some great insight. I will continue through the next chapter, but not sure if I will go on.

These two are next for May 1 and May 29 tours. Not sure why I thought signing up for three review books made sense, but at least one of them is small.

Upcoming virtual book tours:
  • The Vanishing at Castle Moreau by Jamie Jo Wright - Apr 24 (review)
  • The Shade Under the Mango Tree by Evy Journey - Apr 27
  • The Not So True Adventures of Brandon, Josh and Adam by Barry M. Fellinger - May 1 (review at TC&TBC)
  • The Giving Back Tree by Tarky Lee - May 29 (review at TC&TBC)

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

My mailbox remained empty, and I didn't download any freebies because I have so many books here.

That's it for me this week. The husband and I are planning a little trip this coming weekend before my mother-in-law arrives. I'm not sure how much blogging I will be doing this week as I prepare for her arrival. Let's hope there are some down times over the next few days.

You are making good progress on your new MIL room. You also have an interesting assortment of books in progress or on tap. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

The room looks to be coming along well. (Those were nice pillars.)
You lost your mom young too. Mine was 48 when she died. I empathize with your loss.
I hope you get a nice break with your hubby.
Enjoy your week and some Happy Reading!

Thanks for visiting on Monday, ladies. I just finished stopping by your blogs.

Shelleyrae, I just booked our trip today. It will be raining, but it will still be nice to get away.

Thanks, Mary. They hope to be done tomorrow.

Kathy, I definitely have a larger variety these days. Hope I can read them.

Martha, they w4ere nice pillars. We tucked them in the basement in case we want them back one day. I am sorry to hear about your mom. Mine was 47.

Thanks for visiting on Monday, everyone. I appreciate it.
