It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - Jan 21

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Today we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. If you are looking for ways you can serve your community, check out the MLK Day of Service website.

Leading up to today, we had our first major storm of the winter. No church and no work, since the mixture of snow and sleet made the roads a bit treacherous. I made cornbread and white bread to go with the turkey chili I made on Saturday, so that supper would be easy because I was finally taking down the Christmas decorations. All that is left is the upstairs Christmas tree and the lights off the family room tree. Then things will be back to boring and normal around here.

I'm in the middle of the latest book by Jerome Charyn.

I also started this book since my review is coming up soon.

Next up is this one.

After that, I hope to tackle the rest of my first book and this great autobiography.

What is going on in your reading world?

Everyone I am visiting is "snowed under", sounds cold your way. Lots of good books to read to keep your mind off the cold! Taking down the trees and decorations is always quite a job!

We had chili and packed away Christmas too. We missed the snow but are supposed to get a little tonight and tomorrow. All we have is bitter cold. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Putting away the decorations is always a relief. Happy reading.

Taking down the decorations is a major operation and one I feel quite nostalgic about. We do it here by the 6th of January.
Your weather sounds very nice for someone in the tropics. We certainly wont mind some of it sent this way.

It got colder up here this week, Kathryn: -3 yesterday. Yuck!

Pussreboots, very popular around the blogging world. I can't wait to really focus on it.

Kathy, it is definitely the weather for comfort food and hanging around the homestead.

Nise, if it weren't for the animals, I might leave them up longer; but when they start knocking ornaments off, they are telling me they are tired of seeing it.

Mystica, I know a lot of people who pull down decorations on the 6th or 12th. I would ship you some snow if I could.

Thanks for visiting, everyone.
