It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mailbox Monday - Aug 18

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome, everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and was then taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Happy more-exhausted-than-should-be-allowed Monday. Lots of appointments, worked all weekend, and more appointments today. I am blessed with work, so no complaints. Just really tired.

Here are photos from our week:

Had dinner Friday night at Tony & Penny's in Ludlow

Neat fireplace surrounds in a historical home I viewed over the weekend

Sign I found in the Williamsburg General Store

How is Theo even comfortable like that?

In my reading world, I reviewed The Birds of Christmas by Olivia Armstrong here.

I read the first chapter of Child of A Swan by David Burnett. That First Chapter Review will appear on Tuesday.

I also read more of  Like Driftwood on the Salish Sea by Richard Levine.

I didn't read Behind the Scenes by Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley on my Kindle this week.

Still need to review The Bible Simplified by Zach Windahl on NetGalley.

I didn't touch The Sea Captain's Wife by Tilar J. Mazzeo this week, but I need to finish it this week.

Need to review Generating Business Referrals Without Asking by Stacey Brown Randall soon.

These First Chapter Reviews are coming in August and September.

Father of One by Jani Anttola

What Lies We Keep by Janet Roberts

Whatever It Takes by Alan Benham

Ride a Dark Trail by Winter Austin

Need to read Old Flames, New Beginnings by Lea Schizas during the holiday season.

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books they added to their shelves the previous week. This weekly meme is now hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach

I grabbed some free e-Books. Not that I have any time to read them lately.

Cowboy on the Run by Anne McAllister

Simultaneous by Eric Heisserer

Surrender to Love by Maryann Diorio

A Vicarage Wedding by Kate Hewitt

The latest Christmas... in the news post is up at Christmas Year Round. You can read all the seasonal good stuff here. I am also accepting interviews and guest posts from writers of family-friendly Christmas material at this blog. You can read the details here.

The Children's and Teens' Book Connection has the review I mentioned above.

Laura's Little Houses didn't get any love from me this week, but I updated my "Times Are Changing" Season 9 rewrite over at fanfiction.net. You can find the first four chapters here

I have appointments this morning, but I will check out your blogs later today or tomorrow. Hope you have a great day!

I often look at the dog and wonder how he can possible sleep comfortably in some contorted position!

My life is either really busy or not much going on. It's still really hot where I live in Florida with high humidity/

I hope so, Deb. Really wanted to stay on top of things this year. Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you had a good week, Cheryl. I love the details on the tiles of the fireplace of the house you viewed recently. And what a great witch sign. LOL I don't think I would be able to resist that. Theo reminds me of my cat Gracie--she will sometimes lie her head in the most uncomfortable looking places. I hope you have a good week, Cheryl, and are able to get in some down time. Take care!
