It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are, and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome, everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and was then taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
Welcome to the last Monday of April! Can you believe it? How can May 1 be only days away?
We made it to and from North Carolina, leaving part of our hearts there with our girl. But we will be headed back soon for graduation. Other than that, I am swimming in work and have bitten off more than one fingernail. I wish I could go back to my natural nails, but they are so weak now. Does anyone have tips and tricks?
Here are some photos from our week:
After the dance show
Strawberries and cream pancakes from Drift
Downtown Wilmington
Travis was so happy we came home, he hopped into my suitcase to make sure I couldn't fill it again
In my reading world, I finished Murder, Local Style by Leslie Karst, and posted my review early. You can find it here. Be sure to enter the giveaway.
I finished This is Not About Us by Allegra Goodman. Way too many characters for me, but a good book overall.
I continued with Scrap: Salvaging a Family by Luann Castle. This is an intense and deeply emotional collection. Look for my review in June.
I started The Ladies Hall by Vanessa Miller because I had my phone with me in the car.
These are next:
The Ledger by Steven Manchester, which is a companion to his novel, The Menu
Co-Created: The Cultural Strategy That Redefined Pacsun by Brieane Olson is also a NetGalley download.
The Ghost and the Key, the first book in Bill Cusano's The Old Cranberry Ladies Garden Club series. I am reading this series this summer.

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books they added to their shelves the previous week. This weekly meme is now hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach.
Has anyone heard from Vicki? She hasn't posted since the beginning of April.
One new book arrived in the mail, and this one I am taking with me on vacation. Massawa is by Pam Webber.

Christmas Year Round
This week's Christmas Year Round blog's latest "Journey through Christmases Past" post talks about Christmas in the United States. This is a bit of trivia about Christmas as a legal holiday. You can read it here.
The Children's and Teens' Book Connection
Nothing new. I feel like I can barely keep up with this blog lately. But I hope to be posting there more often through the summer.
Laura's Little Houses
Nothing new, but I will post my favorites from Seasons 7 - 9 in the next couple of weeks. Well, maybe after graduation. :)
I have a hectic schedule today, but I will visit as much as I can. Appreciate your visits and comments.

Looks like a nice trip. You have an interesting assortment of books too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYes, we had fun. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteNice pics from your trip. Awww...Travis looks cute in the suitcase. I'm reading The Ledger by Steven Manchester now and it's so good, just like all his books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely a cute little mischief maker. Glad you are enjoying Steven's book. I can't wait to dive into it. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteIt's funny how cats find those spots. Next time he will have to go too! Great to be looking forward to graduation for your daughter. No tips for nails - mine are horrible. Hope you get some reading managed inbetween all the work.
ReplyDeleteThey always do. I'm not sure he would travel well, but our daughter would love it. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you enjoyed the trip. My sons graduation ceremony is in two weeks which will necessitate an overnight stay as he has to be there at 8.30am for the ceremony at 10am and we live nearly five hours away drive away.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your week
I've always wanted to visit North Carolina. Three of my cousins went to school there.
