It was a crazy week or I would have commented sooner.

Lydia, I would like to catch Riverdale, but I'm sure I won't like it.

Thanks for sharing those tidbits, Jessica. That's so funny about Last Man Standing.

Lectrice, Simon was a popular presence on the show. I can see how that would happen.

RS, I'm glad this post gave you a chance to talk about some shows you enjoy. I didn't realize TV blogs have faded away. That's too bad, since shows are fun to talk about. I agree with your thoughts about The Bachelor. I struggle with remakes, too.
Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03470069911115912344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7610315916146710519.post-78568671808849944382020-06-28T21:12:09.225-04:002020-06-28T21:12:09.225-04:00I loved American Idol when I was a teenager, but I...I loved American Idol when I was a teenager, but I don’t think I’ve seen it since then. I guess I got bored with it. I’ve seen a few episodes of The Bachelor, but it was too stupid for me. I haven’t seen any of the others on your list.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
Aj @ Read All The Things!https://www.blogger.com/profile/02860483414620371093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7610315916146710519.post-55079420093882164692020-06-26T16:34:33.957-04:002020-06-26T16:34:33.957-04:00Oh, good topic choice! The only thing I love as much as books is television, and I really miss the way TV blogs have faded from the landscape, so thanks for bringing back a mini version so I can talk your ear off.

I am a major NCIS and Last Man Standing fan (or was; I lost interest in both in the past couple of years after one cast changeover too many), and watched American Idol with my mom until Simon Cowell left, but I've never seen any of the others either.
Especially The Bachelor -- there's just something kind of icky to me about turning romance into a game/competition, which I think bugs me more because everyone takes it so seriously, like they're really finding their future spouse. That's not how that works! (as for the Kardashians...yeah, that is also my exact sentiment about them)

Oh wait, I have seen a few episodes of Young Sheldon, but only because I left the TV on in between sitcoms I actually wanted to watch. I've seen most of The Big Bang Theory, but Sheldon is by far the most annoying character on it to me, and he does not get better with youth. (The cast around him on YS is great, though. I think it's a show that can easily stand on its own as a regular family sitcom. You might even enjoy it more that way, and/or enjoy BBT more in the future, with this background.)

I like the idea of remakes, but in practice, there's always some change that ends up annoying me too much to give them a shot. And some of the originals (*cough* Magnum, Macgyver) are simply too iconic to be replicated in cheap knock-off form. However, I really enjoyed the new Hawaii Five-0 and S.W.A.T., whose originals I have never seen.RShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15389851788572591784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7610315916146710519.post-5392526027424921282020-06-24T20:46:09.669-04:002020-06-24T20:46:09.669-04:00I also haven't watched a single episode of nin...I also haven't watched a single episode of nine of the shows on your list. I used to watch American Idol, but I stopped once Simon Cowell left the show. Fun post this week! I only ever watch it on reruns on various channels. But anyway, in those early seasons a few of the cast members from Home Improvement star in an episode or two. And it's funny because they make jokes about it, like when Jonathan Taylor Thomas came on, Tim Allen looked at him and was like, "you look familiar..." and the same when his Home Improvement wife came on, can't recall her real name right now.

I was honestly a decent fan of the original Roseanne, at least the first 4 seasons or so. It started getting dull after a certain point and lost all humor. The same then is true for when The Connors started. I watched it out of curiosity and really having no other sitcoms to watch and it was just dull. I felt like it was trying too hard.

Young Sheldon is kind of fun, but might be more enjoyable for The Big Bang Theory fans as you kind of see it in reverse all Sheldon's eccentricities.

I do want to give that new Nancy Drew a try. Hopefully it'll pop on Netflix. I didn't realize the CW gave it a supernatural twist!

And then pretty much the rest of your picks are ones I never saw either. American Idol I did watch one season and ended up hating it when the person I liked the best lost and the one who drove me insane won! Lol.

Thanks for visiting my TTT!Jessica @ a GREAT readhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07554254368211246669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7610315916146710519.post-77630726921423609172020-06-23T11:05:39.596-04:002020-06-23T11:05:39.596-04:00I've watched bits and pieces of Riverdale, but...I've watched bits and pieces of Riverdale, but I've never watched any of the other shows on your list.

My TTT .Lydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14241300876630582609noreply@blogger.com
